Well, I had every intention of making this episode 22 minutes long. So much for that! I hope you enjoy this jam-packed epic episode with familiar guests to the show and new guests I can't wait to introduce you to!
Bill Benedict, Chairman of the Spring Hill Historic Commission, gives us a history lesson steeped in love and heartache! He is also the owner of Juice Bar Spring Hill and you'll learn about the charming historic home “The Kissing House” his business is located in, and the love story that gave the home its name. Bill will be a recurring guest on Price's Highway!
I give Chris Yow, Managing Editor of The Advertiser News of Spring Hill of Thompson’s Station, our media sponsor, a call to hear about the latest local news headlines!
Tommy Nelms from Sweeps & Ladders takes us on a walk down memory lane -- back to his childhood days shearing sheep at the old silo where its memorial, Chick Fil A and Chicken Salad Chick stand today. Plus, hear about his transition from Franklin Firefighter to becoming a full-time chimney sweeper and what it takes to run his popular family-owned business. Then hear how he teamed up with his local industry competition to take on one of the most powerful forces in the world: cancer. "Sweep Away Cancer" is a nonprofit organization, now a global one, that assists families impacted by this life-changing disease. If you would like to learn more about this incredible organization go to: www.sweepawaycancer.com.
BOOTS AND BLING: Vicki Bechet and Melonie Rouse talk about a big event being hosted by the GFWC Spring Station Woman's Club they are members of! It's the 6th Annual Amethyst Affair - Art, Auction & Awareness! And guess what?! They asked me to be the emcee! The event is being described as cowboy casual with lots of bling! Dinner, DJ, line-dancing with expert instructor, bourbon tasting, live and silent auctions, photo booth, awareness activities, and more! Proceeds to benefit both Bridges and Center of Hope Domestic Violence Shelters and the nonprofit community service club. It's happening Sat, February 8th at 6pm at: UAW 1853 Union Hall - 125 Stephen P. Yokich Pkwy in Spring Hill. Get your tickets here: https://bit.ly/2GeMZhx
